Buyers Guide

Storage – If your mobility scooter is to be stored outside it is your responsibility to ensure that is kept in a secure and dry place. Eg.. locked shed or purpose-built container. If you are planning to store the scooter under a cover please unsure the cover is fully waterproof and the whole scooter is covered at all times. If you will be taking the scooter in and out of storage yourself please make sure before purchase you are competent to do this yourself with the model you select or if not you have someone competent and able to assist you.

Please note that we can provide storage solutions from covers to sheds and ramps.

General upkeep and maintenance – All scooters will require charging regularly. Generally this would consist of an 8-10 hour charge after each significant use( please see charging specifications for your selected model or ask a representative upon purchase).Most foldable/ transportable scooters will have a detachable battery that can be charged inside, however generally the medium-large scooters will require you to charge the machine itself while it is being stored. Please ensure you are aware of how to charge the model you select and that where applicable, the place you store the scooter has access to electricity.

Usage and upkeep – All scooters will have different operating capability’s eg… speed, distance, weight capacity and terrain capabilities. Please know it is your responsibility to use your scooter to its intended capabilities and manufactured purpose. Please be aware that some second hand/ pre-owned scooters may not operate to the full maximum capabilities that they would when newly manufactured. The age of the scooter and batteries may affect the things like speed, distance. For example: a second hand scooter with second hand batteries will have a reduced operating range If you are in any doubt when purchasing a mobility scooter that it may not for fill your intended purpose for use make it clear to the representative and where applicable state the intended purpose in the purchase contract.

Weather – If you are intending to use your scooter in anything other then dry conditions it is your responsibility to purchase suitable accessories for your scooter that will keep it dry. For example a poncho/ tiller cover (this covers the main controls).
